The story begins with Panda our F2 Bernedoodle. She joined our family as a puppy and she has been our baby for the last few years. We had dreams of one day breeding her but never found the right partner for her. We aquired Freckles the Great Pyranees to watch our goats and chickens and he quickly became part of the family too. Yes, we know that Freckles isn't a very intimidating livestock guardian dog name but it suits him. Slowly Panda and Freckles developed a bond and we started to think about how good their temperments would be mixed together. Their love story culminated in 6 Great Bernedoodle puppies born in the early morning on December 31, 2025. These pups have all of the chill of their dad, the intelligence of their mom, and beautiful curly coats from their poodle grandparents.

Why Bearclaw Forest?

Bearclaw Forest is a family-run homestead in Southwest Virginia. We breed Nigerian/Kiko goats, Rex/California rabbits, and Great Bernedoodles. Our dogs are raised in a hands-on environment on our mini farm with daily socialization, early training exposure, and a strong focus on holistic health and temperament.

  3. Deposit placed to secure your spot
  4. Puppy selection 5-6 weeks old. We reserve first pick of the litter, then it is first-come first-serve based on when deposits were received.
